  • explain the importance of each food group
  • be able to sort food into the different nutrient (food) groups
  • list sources and functions of Vitamins A, B, C and D
  • read and discover nutrients and/or additives on labels of food packaging
  • describe a balanced diet.

  • Shopping bags
  • Magazine pictures of meals, e.g. spaghetti bolognaise; salad with lettuce, egg, tomato,  green pepper;  bacon, eggs and toast;  ice cream and strawberries
