- explain the importance of each food group
- be able to sort food into the different nutrient (food) groups
- list sources and functions of Vitamins A, B, C and D
- read and discover nutrients and/or additives on labels of food packaging
- describe a balanced diet.

- Shopping bags
- Magazine pictures of meals, e.g. spaghetti bolognaise; salad with lettuce, egg, tomato, green pepper; bacon, eggs and toast; ice cream and strawberries
