Relationship of the Moon to the Earth

After the completion of Topic 2 the learners will be able to:

• Explain the effects of the Moon’s gravity on:
  • the Earth
  • the tides
  • the ecosystems
• Use a diagram to write about and explain the effects of the Moon’s gravity on the Earth, including the tides and ecosystems.
• Give a description of the concept of gravity.
• Explain the factors that influence an object’s gravitational pull.
• Demonstrate the pull of gravity by swinging a ball that is attached to a rope/ string/ in a stocking, in a circular motion.
