Rotation (Moon)

Choose the best video suited to your context and learners’ ability.

• Video Clip 1: Moon rotation [1:00 min.].

• Video Clip 2: Does The Moon Rotate? [2:29 min.].

• Greet the learners.
• Inform them that a practical demonstration will be done outside on the sport field:
• Use one small ball.
• The small ball represents the Moon [draw a smiley face on one side / a big blue/ green/ red/ any colour dot].
• Select a learner to keep the ball in one outstretched hand.
• Instruct the learner to move the ball so that it revolves around his/her body.

• One learner represents the Earth:
  • One hand that holds the ball, is stretched out.
  • Stand on one spot and rotate around own axis.
• The other learners:
  • Stand around the learner with the ball.
  • Observe how the Moon rotates.

• Present an overview of the Earth and the rotation of the Moon by using Presentation 1:  The Rotation of the Moon.
