Revolution (Moon)

• Tell the learners to be observant when the following practical demonstration is done:
  • Take two balls [one large and one small]. The teacher holds a ball in each hand at the same height from the ground. Ask the learners to predict which of the following will occur when the balls are dropped at the same time:
    • The large ball will land first.
    • The small ball will land first.
    • Both balls will hit the ground at the same time.

 [correct answer:  Both balls will hit the ground at the same time].  

• Explain to learners that this demonstration is the force of gravity at work.

• Ask the learners to explain what they have learnt about the Earth’s revolution.
• Present an overview of the revolution of the Moon by using Presentation 2: The Revolution of the Moon.
