Answer: A mixture consists of two or more materials that are mixed together.
- Remind the learners that in the previous lesson, they made a variety of mixtures. When they mixed some of the substances, they were able to see each material in the mixture. For example, when they mixed peanuts and raisins; they were still able to see the peanuts and the raisins. They stayed the same, the peanuts and the raisins did not lose their properties.
- When they mixed other substances, they could not see the different materials after they had been mixed. For example, when they mixed the concentrated cool drink and water it looked as if the one substance had disappeared into the other one. Ask the learners if they can remember what such mixtures are called.
